Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Consilium Cobalt handles information on the public website and in the private case workspace. It is written for the current private-beta service and will be updated before broader commercial release.
Information we handle
The public website receives ordinary connection information needed to deliver a web page, such as an IP address, request time, browser information, requested path, and security or error events. If a visitor requests private-beta access, Consilium also receives the name, email address, organization, and intended-use description the visitor submits. The private workspace handles account information, organization and matter membership, files a user deliberately uploads, derived analysis, operational audit events, and billing status identifiers when billing is enabled.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, isolate matters, preserve and process evidence, generate requested legal-analysis work product, maintain provenance, secure and troubleshoot the service, and operate an invited-user beta. Consilium does not sell case evidence or use private matter content for advertising.
Public-site analytics
Google Analytics is optional and disabled unless a valid measurement configuration is installed. When enabled, it is limited to public marketing and policy pages and loads only after a visitor chooses “Allow analytics.” It is not loaded in the secure workspace and is not permitted to receive evidence, case names, document contents, legal questions, or authenticated workspace activity.
Storage, service providers, and disclosure
Consilium uses service providers to operate hosting, networking, security, email, and—if separately enabled—payment processing. Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to operate the service, protect users or the system, comply with lawful process, or address a security incident. Payment-card and bank-login credentials are handled by the selected payment provider rather than stored by Consilium.
Retention and user choices
Private-beta records are retained as needed to operate and secure the service, preserve evidence provenance and audit history, meet legal obligations, and honor an organization’s documented instructions. Deleting original evidence or audit history is not an automatic consequence of closing a browser session. Authorized users may contact Consilium to request access, correction, export, or deletion review, subject to preservation duties and matter-owner controls.
Security and limits
Consilium uses encrypted transport, authenticated access, matter separation, evidence hashing, and operational auditing. No system can promise absolute security. Users should not upload real client evidence until their organization has approved the service and its confidentiality, retention, and professional-responsibility requirements.
